Podiatrists specialize in diagnosing and treating disorders of the foot, ankle, and lower leg. Podiatrists have expertise in orthopedics, radiography, sports medicine, dermatology, and surgery. Some conditions that podiatrists treat are ankle injuries, bunions, calluses, neuromas, running injuries, and toe deformities. They are often the first health professionals to diagnose vascular problems that have previously gone unrecognized. Podiatrists also contribute significantly to the areas of diabetic foot care, arthritic foot care, and wound healing.


Jacob Edward D. Hanlon, D.P.M.
Board-certified Podiatrist

Dr. Hanlon Dr. Jacob Hanlon is a native Delawarean. He is a graduate of the University of Delaware and the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in New York City. His post-graduate training in Advanced Foot and Ankle Reconstructive Surgery was accomplished at Lutheran Medical Center, a Level One Trauma Center in Brooklyn, New York, where he served as the Orthopedic Trauma Fellow. Dr. Hanlon's training also included advanced techniques in wound care and all aspects of the Diabetic Foot, reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle, extensive trauma exposure and fore-foot corrective surgery with careful attention to a cosmetic result.

Dr. Hanlon practices in our Dover, Middletown and Smyrna offices. He is on the active staff at Kent General Hospital and Milford Memorial Hospital. Dr. Hanlon is an attending staff physician at the Bayheatlh Wound Care Center.

Dr. Hanlon is Board-certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.


Ronald J. Kahn, D.P.M.
Podiatrist

Dr. Kahn Dr. Ronald J. Kahn received his undergraduate degree from Rutgers College in 1971 and his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia in 1975. He entered the Air Force after graduation and completed his residency training in Podiatric Surgery at the Southern California Podiatric Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Following his Residency in 1979 he was assigned to the Air Force Academy where he served as Chief of Podiatry for five years. While at the Academy he received the US Air Force Meritorious Achievement Award. He spent a year at Patrick AFB in Florida and was then transferred to Dover AFB where he was the Chief of Podiatry from 1985 to 1988. In 1988 he was given the US Air Force Commendation Award. He separated from the Active Duty Air Force in 1988 and entered the AF Reserves. Dr. Kahn retired from the Reserves in 1995 with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and received the US Air Force Achievement Award.

Dr. Kahn is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, and is a member and past president of the Delaware Podiatric Medical Association. Dr. Kahn is a Fellow of the American Association of Hospital & Health Care Podiatrists.

Dr. Kahn is a founding member of the Diabetes Advisory Committee of Kent General Hospital. He is a past president of the Camden-Wyoming Rotary Club and is a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International.

In 1988 Dr. Kahn started Delaware Podiatric Medicine, P.A. to serve the foot care needs of Kent County. He now serves as the full time administrator of Delaware Podiatric Medicine, P.A.—the largest podiatry practice in Southern Delaware.


Harry S. Tam, D.P.M.
Podiatrist

Dr. Tam Harry S. Tam, DPM, was born and raised in New York City. He graduated from St. John's College and The New York College of Podiatric Medicine.

Dr. Tam completed his fellowship in diabetic foot and limb salvage (diabetic foot wounds, infections, Charcot foot deformities) at the Tidewater Foot and Ankle Education & Research Foundation in Virginia Beach, Virginia and completed his podiatric medicine and surgery residency at Staten Island University Hospital, Staten Island, NY. Dr. Tam has also been published in several scientific journals for his research in the treatment and reconstruction of the diabetic foot.

Dr. Tam practices in our Dover and Milford offices. He is on the active staff at Kent General Hospital and Milford Memorial Hospital. Dr. Tam is an attending physician in the Bayhealth Wound Care Center.

Fanta V. Morgan, D.P.M.
Podiatrist

Dr. Morgan Fanta V. Morgan, DPM was born in Washington, DC, and raised in Prince Georges County, Maryland. Following high school graduation she enrolled at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore where she pursued a degree in Biology/Pre-Medicine in the Honors Program. She graduated with a BS in Biology and a minor in Chemistry, Summa Cum Laude.

Dr. Morgan spent one year after college graduation performing biological research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH); National Institute of Diabetes, Digestive, and Kidney Diseases. After several publications in scientific journals, she later left NIH to pursue a career in Podiatric Medicine at Temple University. During this time she received numerous awards and honors including: induction into Pi Delta National Podiatric Surgery Honor Society; the Andrea K. Delgado, MD Memorial Award; and the James V. Ganley, DPM Memorial Award. She also was recognized in Who's Who Among American College Students.

Upon completion of Medical School she completed two years of post graduate training in a Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Morgan is a licensed physician in the state of Pennsylvania and in Delaware. She is currently board-qualified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery in foot surgery and a new member of the Delaware Podiatric Medicine P.A. group in Dover, DE.
